It’s not just about getting fit; it’s about embarking on a journey of self-discovery, integrating medical fitness, the healing arts, and flexibility for a holistic approach to well-being. Gone are the days of one-size-fits-all medical rehabilitation or fitness routines. Medical fitness takes a personalized approach, considering your unique health history, current limitations, and fitness goals. Medical fitness is relatively new to the scope of medicine. During the last half of the last century the scientific interest in sport medicine encouraged the development of new fields in medicine. In 2007, the American Medical Association (AMA) teamed up with American College of Sport Medicine (ACSM) and created the Exercise is Medicine (EIM) initiative to tackle the ever growing prevalence of chronic lifestyle diseases. Equipping certified exercise professional with medical pathology education and training to guide and coach people struggling to manage health concerns.

Well-Being, nestled within wellness, nestled within the definition of health. In short, our well-being extends far beyond the physical. FIT FLEX, like Yoga, meditation, and tai chi are just a few examples of practices that can be incorporated into your routine. FIT FLEX like Yoga postures not only improve flexibility but also promote mindfulness and stress reduction, also incorporate strength development. Meditation can help quiet the mind, improving focus and emotional well-being by reducing distractions. Tai chi, also like FIT FLEX, with its gentle movements and focus on breathwork, enhance balance and coordination while fostering a sense of inner calm.

In addition to active practices added to your routine, the healing arts also encompass passive therapies like massage, reiki and acupuncture. These passive therapies enhance the mind-body connection and deeply impact health and wellness directly affecting the inner sense of well-being. At times an assist is what is needed to further influence and passive therapies are an excellent companion to support that activation.

Tight muscles can lead to pain, decreased range of motion, and even injuries. The Muscles +HEART fitness Lab centers FIT FLEX flexibility training into your discovery zone routine. With this intentional shift you can improve your posture, reduce the risk of injury, and increase your overall sense of well-being. Stretching exercises, active FIT FLEX postures specifically designed for flexibility, and even foam rolling can all contribute to a more limber and pain-free body.

The formula for supple muscle tissue lies in the biomechanics of stretching. Supple muscle is healthy, pliable and strong, able to function for long periods of time (endurance). It embodies power, speed, dexterity and agility. It is a command of balance and coordination.
